Hello and Welcome to Currie’s Suite Excursions LLC the home of the Jazz Lover’s Travel Club (JLTC) Jazz Lovers Travel Club was started by two native born Pittsburgh, Pennsylvanians. We went to the same grade school and then went on to live our separate lives. After 30+ years we were blessed with reuniting and have been married for several years.

Even though we lived separate lives for some 30+ years we found that we had parallel interest. We found that we loved art we even had the same pictures in our homes, we both enjoy good food and fine restaurants, love to travel and last but not least we both love the American Classical Music (JAZZ).

I came up in a family that loved Jazz. When I was about seven or eight years of age I can remember several instances where I was monitored by my one of my uncles as to what music I was listening to. My uncle would walk into the room and ask me what big band I was listening to for instance was that Duke Ellington or Count Basie; if I answered incorrectly he would correct me smile and then playfully pluck me in my for head.

I started playing trumpet when I was seven years of age, I got paid for my first gig when I was fourteen, Joined the musicians union when I was sixteen and started teaching a jazz history course when I was a freshman at Antioch college. Two of my favorite trumpet players were Clifford Brown and Lee Morgan. My mother was an excellent singer and I grew up listening to great artist from Arthur Prysock to Nancy Wilson. My other uncle Ahmad Jamal (a world renowned piano player) had a profound effect on my love and appreciation of the American Classical Music called JAZZ.

My wife had her own travel and event business for over 5 years. We have been privileged over the past 25 years between the two of us to have gone to Africa, Aruba, Canada, Mexico and a host of jazz festivals, music halls, theaters and museums in cities throughout the United States.

We understand the meaning of camaraderie and we want you to join us and share our precious travel adventures.
